What to visit in Tamaulipas?
1. Tampico
Once in Tampico, you should be ready to dance or let yourself be infected by the rhythm of its Huastec sounds and huapangos, because these will not stop sounding wherever you walk. The party that is lived in its streets is permanent and the people of Tampico do not limit themselves when it comes to radiating joy.
2. Tula
The charming Historic Center of Tula, with a colonial air, offers relaxed walks to appreciate its churches, its cobbled streets, the corners where they make handicrafts with ancient techniques and discover in its buildings the traces left by the Porfiriato, a time when the Frenchified ornaments.
5. Mier
To the north of Tamaulipas, in the middle of the desert, there is an oasis that was the protagonist of the fierce struggle between Mexico and the United States for the independence of Texas in the 19th century. It is the Magical Town of Mier, the oldest in the border strip that shelters endless stories of battles and standing lime and stone buildings that survive despite being more than 250 years old.
